My Carolinas Notebook: Personally, I enjoy The Speckled Trout ((22 Main St.) because the restaurant is a unique design, and the food is upscale and not priced that way. I had the trout (of course!) and it was amazing. I don’t recall ever eating trout previously, and it was a great experience.
We also took the kids to Mellow Mushroom, where the decor and food were both winners in my book.
